Your Race Application!
Even if your race isn't until next year, it's a good idea to have your race application ready and available. Race promotion is a year round activity.
If your race is timed by us, you need to add a few lines as noted on the next section.
I would also recommend that you have the participant provide e mail addresses.
When you have your application ready, send me a copy so that I can promote your race better.

Add Chip Return Statements to your Applications (Island Timing Customers)
It is important that we emphasize the collection of chips at the finish line. We will provide additional handouts with directions to your participants, but it will be helpful to let your runners know in advance that you will now be a chip race.
After pricing information on your race applications and again as part of the waiver, Please add this line:
The Winning Time Chip is on loan from Island Timing. Please return the chip at the finish line or you will be billed an additional $20.

Check to see if your race information is correct and complete on our 2009 calendar. Island Timing Calendar is for our timing customers only.
Send me your race ap, photo's of last years event, helpful links and I'll set up a web page as soon as we've confirmed your event.
Island Timing will be promoting our race calendar to thousands of runners every month.

Photo Waiver!
Another helpful statement can be added to your waiver. This way you'll have no problems using photo's to promote your race.
I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, and any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.

We are rebuilding our race directors website. The Running Pages will be updated with helpful hints and information for race directors.

Register your event with active.com Online registrations have been a big boost to race participation. Make sure Island Timing is listed as your timer and I'm listed as manager so I can download pre registered runners directly. Less work for you, easier for the runner and easier for me!
